AUGUST 4, 2008
A special meeting was held on Aug. 4, 2008 in the
Municipal Building for the purpose of discussing the
disbursement of TIF funds to pay for demolition and
clean up of property known as the old Vulgamott
Building. Those present were President Jim Morgan,
Trustees Brad Williams, Lyle Shoraga, Terry Lovekamp,
Carol Huff, Ron Price, and Mike Songer. Also present
were Atty. Colette McCarty, Clerk Linda Ash, and D.P.W.
Rob Bratton.
An agreement will need to be drawn up just to get this
moving. TIF attorney Dan Schuering will draw up this
agreement. Mr. Handley will have to call Ameren IP to
have gas and electric disconnected. As soon as that is
done the building can be removed. The lease will be
terminated and G. Handley will be out of the lease. The
real estate taxes are paid up. Once notified, Ameren IP
will be out within 21 days to remove their utilities.
A motion was made by Trustee Williams to enter into an
agreement and accept the lowest bid for demolition,
second by Trustee Lovekamp. The building will be torn
down in Hadley’s name. The Village will not be
responsible for asbestos removal. Hutchins Excavation is
the low bidder at $7800. Roll call vote is as follows:
Trustee Williams, yea, Shoraga, yea, Lovekamp, yea,
Huff, yea, Price, yea, and Songer, yeas.
OLD BUSINESS
Nothing to discuss. Ordinance committee needs to meet
and discuss some possible changes.
Trustee Songer reported he had three parties meet with
him to discuss the needs for the PA system. So far, he
has received one bid.
According to Rob, there is no good way to find out who
is still on a septic system.. He can look at the list
and guess. He knows of two, possibly three.
Motion to adjourn at 7:35 on a motion by Trustee
Williams, second, Songer, all yeas.
